GILLESPIE COUNTY SOIL & WATER
CONSERVATION DISTRICT #220
Gillespie County, Texas

The
District is comprised of about 675,000 acres divided into five zones. Each
zone has one director elected once every four years. Each director is a rural
landowner within their zone of Gillespie County. The District provides
technical assistance to all land users in Gillespie
County through the USDA
Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
We’re
involved in many activities to educate people about range and wildlife
management, and preserving and protecting the county’s soil and water
resources.
Our
board meetings are normally the third Monday of each month at our office;
1906 North Llano Street, #106, Fredericksburg, Texas 78624.

At the Area II conservation awards dinner at Wall, Texas in May 2009, Chairman Royce
Herbort accepted the award for the Gillespie Co. SWCD as Outstanding District
in Area II, which includes 44 southwest Texas counties.
