GILLESPIE COUNTY SOIL & WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT #220 Gillespie County, Texas Spring Beef & Range Field Day was held May 10, 2007, and nearly 300 people attended. It was scheduled to be held at the Jack & Liza Lewis Ranch in the White Oak Community, but due to much-needed rain, it was held at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds. Liza Lewis gave a great introduction and told us about her ranch, which is just outside Fredericksburg. Additional Program topics: Pond Management, Dr. Michael Masser, TX Co-op. Extension Wildlife Management, Mike Regan, Texas Parks & Wildlife Range Management and Benefits of Prescribed Fire, Charles Anderson, USDA NRCS and Allen Ersch, Director of GPBA. Many people and businesses from Fredericksburg and the surrounding area donated door prizes which were given out during the event. To give more recognition than was possible at the field day, a list of our supporters and door prize donors is posted here.
