Contests for boys and girls of
Winners in the 2008-2009 poster and essay contests, left to right are Jordan White, Cavin Felts, Austin Rodriguez, Logan White, Conor Thompson, and Brittany Sanders. Presenting the awards were Gladys Rogers and Alice Klein from Security State Bank, SWCD directors James Wahrmund, Guenther Ottmers, Jr. and Patrick Kunz; Barbara Hofmann from LCRA, and SWCD director Clayton Grona. The POSTER Contest is for students 12 years of age and younger. A total of 95

in The poster winners are: 1st - Logan White, from 2nd - Conor Thompson, St. Mary’s Catholic School, teacher Mrs. Sandra Weinheimer 3rd - Brittany Sanders,
The ESSAY Contest. Ages 13 and under; maximum of 300 words; and Ages 14 to 18; maximum of 500 words Essay winners age 13 and younger are: 1st place -

Austin Rodriguez, from St. Mary’s No essay winners were named for the upper age group. General information: Entries were judged on January 6, 009. Judges were Mrs. Janice Wahrmund, Mrs. Sandra Swearingen, and Mrs. Virginia Crowell. Plaques for each winner were donated by the Lower Colorado River Authority. Security State Bank and Trust donated Savings Bonds for all the winners. They received their plaques and savings bonds certificates at a hamburger dinner sponsored by the Fredericksburg Lions Club in March of 2009. To read about the 2007/2008
