Essay & Poster Contest Winners for 2005 Contest
Entries were submitted in December 2005. The contest theme was “Water Wise”, about
water conservation. Winners received
plaques and savings bonds, and attended a hamburger dinner in their
honor. Plaques were donated by the
Lower Colorado River Authority.
Security State Bank and Trust donated $100 savings bonds for 1st
place, $75 bonds for 2nd place, and $50 bonds for 3rd place. The Fredericksburg Lions Club sponsored the
hamburger dinner in March 2006.

3rd place.

Poster Contest Winners:
Luke Smith, from St. Mary’s School, 1st place.
Jacquelyn Crenwelge, from St. Mary’s School, 2nd place.
Kaylee Olfers, from Doss School, 3rd place.

Winning entries were submitted to the Texas State Soil & Water
Conservation Board's Area II contest, which includes 44 southwest Texas counties. Nelli Jacobo’s essay placed 2nd
at the Area II level.
